The first section lists upcoming workshops I'll be hosting in various locations. Each workshop has a specific theme (improvisation, technique, chord melody, etc.). Following basic info like dates, location, and tuition, you will find a brief description of the class. Fingerboard and Theory Brushup - Sunday, July 10, 2016, University of Redlands, Redlands, CA

In this one-day workshop, we will unravel the mysteries of the fingerboard. Topics include intervals, fingerboard harmony and chord construction and vocabulary, scale and arpeggio fingerings, in addition to technical studies and exercises. The tuition is $100.00 which includes five hours of instruction and all materials.

Your skills will free you from dependency on anyone else. Plus, these skills transfer directly to group playing, as well.

Jazz Guitar--Tools for Improvisation - Sunday, August 7, 2016, University of Redlands, Redlands, CA

This one-day workshop is primarily for players that have some experience with rock and blues improvising and want to expand their skills and knowledge to include jazz styles. All intermediate and advanced players are welcome. Topics include, learning and recognizing common chord progressions, improvising with scales, arpeggios, melodic patterns, learning and using licks and ways to come up with spontaneous musical ideas.
